"Botanical Garden Paradise" piece based on a trip my husband and I took at the Seattle Botanical Garden in Washington State. I began this painting with a unique underpainting achieved in abstract patches of colors, including purple and lime green. The painting was worked through in various layers in order to achieve the right texture and brush work. It is a work dedicated to color and expression of a place I love very much. The colors in this piece represent the life and richness found in that place, such as the deep rich soil that is expressed in various deep shades of purple. Even all the foliage takes on a unique color - further expressing the amazing liveliness of the plant life.
