This is yet another small piece that I make with leftover paint from my palette. Because I have made this a habit, I have an assortment of small canvas panels that I have pre-painted with an underpainting. So, after I complete my larger works, I have a panel ready and waiting for me to experiment with. Each of my panels have a unique underpainting. Some are bright red, orange, or pink. This panel was unique because the underpainting is a bright lemon yellow. Sleepy shore is based on a dream that I had of visiting an unpopulated beach. The yellow underpainting caught that moment when nature is just about to shut off the lights before bed.
